The birth couldn't have been any better. With Grandma Hayes and Daddy present, and with an epidural on board for Mom, the birth was beyond perfect. Steve got to have his wish of bringing his son into this world by helping Dr. Hodges deliver.
Anthony, Juliebelle, and Lauren were elated to meet their new brother. Juliebelle has quickly been labeled "The Second Mother" with her very mature, adult like nature she possess. We are blessed to have such a wonderful helper in the house. Be warned that when you are holding Lucas, Juliebelle will be watching you like a hawk to make sure you're taking care of him correctly. Poor Steve...he got the lecture several times the first few days of how to properly take care of him.
"Mom, Steve's new to this, I'll help him out," Juliebelle stated to me soon after Lucas' arrival.
Everyone in the Hayes family is adjusting very well. It's Steve's first day back at work after having three weeks off. I'm not worried he has forgotten any of his work skills and or abilities, I'm worried he'll miss Lucas too much. He grabbed his laptop on his way out the door this morning stating,
"I'll need this to skpe later tonight. Gotta be able to say goodnight to my little man" Wow, I guess 24 hours away from him is going to be too much for him to bear.
I'll keep you all updated on how Papa Hayes does being away from his "Little Man!"
