A Visit to the Doctor
Dillon had his first visit to the Dr. on Tuesday. At this visit we weighed him, measured him, and gave him a good once over.
Most newborn breastfed babies don't gain any weight generally until they are two weeks of age. It is common for them to lose up to 10 ounces in their first few weeks. Not this boy! He gained three ounces!!
He had a slight jaundiced color to him, but the Dr. wasn't concerned because he's eating so well and gaining weight. He is slightly a little tongue tied, but nothing that requires him to have it snipped...at this point.
Overall his visit was great. We'll go back next week to re-weigh him and do another metabolic screening that all newborns have.
